How to write a good CV

A good CV should be a balance of talking about past employment and responsibilities in detail without turning it in to an essay and boring the person reading it. A CV should ideally be one or two pages long. When drafting out a CV you should have a look at a few examples on the internet or even a friends or family members that has recently landed a new job.

It can be very tempting to exaggerate a lot on a CV and state that you have experience or qualifications that you do not. This is just asking for trouble, although you should speak positively about your qualities if you say you can do something that you can’t you are setting yourself up for a far.

You never know when you may be asked a question in your interview about something on your CV, and if you cannot answer it because you have not got the experience you stated, the employer would be very reluctant to give you a job
