How to find the right candidate for the job

Trying to find your next potential employee can be a long process with many resources and time being taken up in the process. You can opt to use a recruitment company to fill this position for you but they will normally charge a fee for doing so. If you want to do it yourself here are a few tips to consider.

1)      Advertise the job in as many places as possible (especially places that do not charge). Make sure that your ad is clear on what level of candidate you are expecting and the closing date for entries.

2)      If you are inundated with CV’s then make three piles – yes, no and maybe.

3)       Ideally you want to carry out the interviews within a few days so you can easily compare candidates to see who would be suitable. Contact the “Yes” pile of CV’s and ask them in for an interview. Prior to the interviews have a set of questions and maybe a small task that you ask all the candidates to complete.
