Recruitment through social media

Social media is growing in popularity at an enormous rate so it should be of no surprise that it is often used as a way of recruitment. Some companies will advertise job positions that they have on social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook. This is a way of advertising a post that will reach people in a similar industry or who share similar interests and does not cost. Other companies use it in a slightly more sneaky way to head hunt potential employees. They will follow people that work for their competition and that they know do a good job. They may even start up a conversation with them and test the water to see if they may be interested in looking for other work. Once this relationship is established they can then ask them to meet up for a chat or arrange for them to come in for an interview. Although this kind of recruitment process can be frowned upon, it is happening more and more.
