Beating the interview nerves

If you have been invited to attend an interview for a job, then you are already half way there. The employer will have read your CV and been impressed with you enough to want to find out more. Attending an interview can be a very nerving experience, but there are a few tips that you can follow to try and stay calm and collected.

Many people forget or do not even consider preparing for an interview. There are many ways to prepare for an interview, which may require you spending a few evenings before hand researching and practising your techniques.

When attending an interview you need to remain calm. Most of us make mistakes when we panic and get flustered and this is exactly the same when it comes to interviews. You may not realise it, but often the interviewer also gets nervous and worries about asking the correct questions. You may only get one chance to show off your skills and expertise so you want to be sure you can get them all across. A great way to do this is to bullet point the main things you wish to tell the employer about. If you have a particular qualification or experience that makes you suited to the position, you would want to make a point of it. Always wait until you are asked a question though as they may already have an interview structure they wish to follow and often you will be asked if you wish to add anything at the end.
